Whether because it is that time of the month or because the company just felt like it, HP has now issued a press release in which it details several mobile computers, two of which are of the ultraportable variety.

While HP is no stranger to the act of dedicating an entire press release to just one new product, it definitely has many occasions when it released a whole bunch of them on its track record.

In this instance, the latter sort of situation has arisen, with the outfit having delivered multiple mobile computers of various performance, style and mobility ratings.

Among them are two (platinum-colored) ultraportable laptops from the EliteBook series, their names being EliteBook 2560p and 2760p, respectively.

Their hardware might not be the shocking part, since they employ the same second-generation Intel Core central processing units.

More specifically, users have a choice between Core i5 and Core i7 dual-core chips, which have the Turbo Boost dynamic overclocking technology.

They are described as having “modern design and precision engineering” and come with 7,200 RPM HDDs and/or SSDs.

The hardware is not fully detailed, but one can assume that about 4 GB of RAM are present, as well as the regular connectivity and I/O (Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0/3.0, etc.).

Fortunately, the company did outline the unique features of both newcomers, so prospective buyers can, at the very least, get an idea of what to expect once listings show up.

The EliteBook 2560p is shaped like a clamshell and has a thin, 12.5-inch form factor, with a 16:9 LED-backlit screen and a built-in optical drive.

It is described by its maker as “the only notebook in the industry with an integrated optical drive in this form factor.”

Meanwhile, the EliteBook 2760p measures 12.1 inches and has touch support that recognizes both finger and touch input.

The EliteBook 2760p should already be listed with a starting price of $1,499, while the 2560p will arrive on May 23, for $1,099.
