The entry-level, dual-core Richland APU won't show up on retail

Unlike AMD's A8 and A10-series accelerated processing units, the A4-6300 won't be sold through the retail channel.

Instead, it will only be shipped as part of complete OEM PCs, like the HP Pavilion 500-003a.

The chip is a dual-core that wasn't mentioned in AMD's official press release.

Then again, this isn't the first time a chip shows up without prior warning.

Here are the specifications: 1 MB of cache memory, a clock frequency of 3.7 GHz, Turbo Core frequency support (3.9 GHz) and the Radeon HD 8370D graphics, which has its own 128 cores and clock speed (760 MHz). The TDP is of 65W.

All in all, the A4-6300 is a pretty basic chip, but still reasonably competent. It won't be able to measure up to its peers, especially in games, but it will do all right in most normal tasks.
