Proving that it is committed to the PC market, HP is updating its Pavilion series of mobile personal computers, even though it won't begin shipping the new ones before April 8 this year (2012).

The company has added two new notebooks as part of the Pavilion g series and three in the Pavilion dv series.

The hardware doesn't seem to have changed, which means that there are still various Intel Pentium/Core processors and AMD Radeon graphics involved.

The new Pavilion g-series laptops get curved, beveled edges and bowl-shaped keyboard decks, plus textured touchpads with bowl-set curvature. Three color options are available: sparkling black, winter blue and ruby red.

The other notebooks, Pavilion dv4, dv6 and dv7, get infinity waterfall edges, tapered chassis, slim top view and metal finish.

The dv4 is colored licorice black or carmine, while the other two get midnight black cases.

The laptops will ship for $499 to $849 (380 to 646 Euro).
