Things are definitely heating up in the 27-inch all-in-one system market as after Asus, HP has also decided to release a similar AIO dubbed the HP Omni27 which yet again takes a swing at Apple’s supremacy in this segment.

As it’s the case with virtually all AIO computers, the focal point of the Omni27 is its display, the 27-inch screen supporting a native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, but sadly this seems to be a regular TN panel and not an IPS or MVA display as it’s the case with its competitors.

HP does however use the same Easel design for this new all-in-one that offers its users the possibility of tilting the display about 25 degrees, which we guess it’s a nice feature to have.

On the inside, the HP Omni27 features an Intel Sandy Bridge processor, namely the 2.5GHz i5-2400S with four computing cores, which is paired together with 6GB of system memory.

For graphics duty, HP has chosen to rely on the integrated GPU found inside Intel’s CPU, while on the storage front the AIO can be equipped with hard drives delivering up to 2TB of storage space.

The rest of the configurations list includes Gigabit Ethernet networking, 802.11 b/g/n wireless, a multi-format card reader, a built-in webcam, a pair of stereo speakers featuring the Beats Audio technology and an optional Blu-ray combo drive.

A TV tuner is also available for users requiring this sort of functionality from their machines, while on the connectivity front we get a pair of USB 3.0 ports, a few supplementary USB 2.0 ports as well as an HDMI input.

The price of the base Omni27 configuration is set at $1,199 (about 919 EUR) and the HP AIO should be available starting with January 8.

Kinda lame. Low resolution (for the size) TN, pretty pedestrian hardware specs. But if it is silent, then it may be OK for non power users.
