The notebook market is not sleeping, as HP clearly showed it when it prepared not just a new ultrabook, but two full-fledged notebooks as well.

The two laptops that HP has finished preparing 9among others) are the Envy 15 and Pavilion dm4, the latter actually being a pair of notebooks on its own.

These machines were exposed along with the Folio, a 13.3-inch mobile PC that is basically HP's new Ultrabook (check it out here).

The Envy 15 and pavilion dm4, unfortunately, were not described in absolute detail.

This means that prospective buyers will have to wait until next month (December, 2011) to get a perfect idea of what is in store for them.

Some things did, at least, make their way to the Internet though, even if the CPU, memory and graphics options were left shrouded in mystery (Intel Core chips and optional AMD GGD5 discrete graphics have been selected).

The Pavilion dm4 will be available in its base form or in the Beats Edition, where it has the Beats logo on the lid and a red backlit keyboard, plus a Beats-themed wallpaper.

Weighing under 2 kilograms, it has a display of 14 inches with LED backlighting and the optional Intel Smart Response Technology, which uses a SSD of 20 GB on a mini-PCI card to speed up boot times and overall operation.

Beats Audio technology is, naturally, available (on both, not just the Beats version which differs just cosmetically and has some extras in the product bundle) along with two HP Triple Bass Reflex subwoofers.

Meanwhile, the HP Envy 15 has a 15.6-inch display, either a HDD (8 hours battery life) or SSD (9.25 hours), fast boot (21 seconds), Beats Audio (six speakers and two subwoofers like the ones above) and 3x3 wireless technology.

Envy will sell for $1,099 (811 Euro) while the Pavilion dm4 and dm4 Beats Edition are expected to cost $629 (464 Euro) and $899 (664 Euro), respectively.
