Good news for HP fans and not only. Hewlett-Packard has unveiled two new WinMo devices. Named iPAQ Voice Messenger and iPAQ Data Messenger, both will give users a thrill when it comes to spec sheets and CPU power. Of course, being WinMo devices, they use Windows Mobile, the only thing that is to be noted being the fact that the Voice Messenger runs on the Standard edition of Windows Mobile 6.1, while the Data Messenger is using the Professional version, in order to make the most of all that the touchscreen brings.

Let's go directly to the specs and see what these handhelds have to offer users.

HP iPAQ Voice Messenger brings a 2.4-inch TFT 64K 320 x 240 pixel non-touch screen display with LED backlight, and a 20-key keyboard (two letters per key). The wireless technology in this one is WLAN 802.11b/g with WPA2 security, Bluetooth 2 with EDR, 3G, tri-band UTMS, HSDPA and HSUPA, but the device also runs on quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE.

Voice Messenger also delivers GPS and A-GPS, microUSB connector, along with an integrated 3.1MP camera with autofocus and 5x digital zoom and flash, QVGA 1600 x 1200 UXGA resolution, and 2048 x 1536 QXGA resolution. With 128MB of SDRAM and 256MB ROM and the microSD card slot that supports up to 8GB, the device should perform all the operations users may need with a lot of ease. These are just a few of the specs for this device, you can get the full list here.

When it comes to HP's Data Messenger, users will find almost the same features, the differences being in the OS used (Pro version of WinMo 6.1 on this one), the 2.81-inch transmissive TFT, 65K colors, 320 x 240 pixel touchscreen display with LED backlight, and the full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Full specs can be found here.

iPAQ Voice Messenger costs 333 pounds (SIM-free), and should be available starting mid-November, while the iPAQ Data Messenger costs 399 pounds (SIM-free), and will be out for purchase at the end of the same month. The two WinMo handhelds will be also available through Vodafone, but no information regarding price and release date has been disclosed so far.
