Watch out Lenovo, your rule will be short and fleeting

This year, Lenovo took away the PC shipment crown from HP, and managed to do the same on the laptop segment as well.

HP isn't one to take things lying down, however, so it got its act together enough for analysts to doubt Lenovo's chances of keeping its post.

Sure, it might stay primary supplier of PCs, overall, but Lenovo is quite likely to lose the leadership on the notebook front.

The cause is two-fold, or will be if the forecast for the third quarter proves accurate.

On the one hand, HP will experience an on-quarter increase of 15 to 20%.

On the other hand, Lenovo will suffer a drop of 7-9%.

This will mean that Lenovo only got to lead the laptop industry for three months, since it only became No. 1 in 2Q13.
