Hewlett-Packard Linux Imaging and Printing 3.14.6, an HP-developed solution for printing, scanning, and faxing with HP inkjet and laser-based printers in Linux, has been released.

Hewlett-Packard Linux Imaging and Printing 3.14.6 is just a maintenance build and comes with support for a number of new devices and a few other changes as well.

Most of the new HPLIP versions are updated with this kind of support and it's been a while since the last significant upgrade. Nonetheless, the developers have also implemented support for Boss 5.0, Debian 7.5, and Linux Mint 17.

Also, the following devices now work with the application: HP DesignJet Z6600 PostScript, HP DesignJet Z6800PS Photo, HP DesignJet D5800 60-in Production Printer, HP DesignJet T3500 36-in Production eMFP, HP Designjet T7200 42-in Production Printer, HP Deskjet 2543 All-in-One Printer, HP Deskjet 2549 All-in-One Printer, HP OfficeJet Pro 8640 e-All-in-One Printer, and HP OfficeJet Pro 8660 e-All-in-One Printer

According to the developers, a device communication error that occurred when launching the HP Device Manager has been fixed, users are now able to add and remove files in the “hp-sendfax” wizard, and the scan performance for the “hp-scan” utility has been improved.
