Energy efficiency has become one of the prime concerns of the industry, with both hardware and software developers doing their best to achieve any sort of optimization, and it seems HP is ready to provide its latest solutions.

While, at one point, the concepts of sustainability, profitability and energy efficiency weren't that compatible, or at least not well connected, HP aims to further reduce the barriers between them.

As such, it has initiated the HP Unlocking Your Energy global tour, in addition to having introduced new products and services meant to help in energy use reduction.

For one, the world's greatest PC supplier revealed a tool that, by means of sensors and HP gateways set up across the home, can track energy consumption by appliance and room.

The solution also lets electrical data be viewed alongside water and gas or other resources while providing energy reduction tips.

In addition to this, HP showed off the EcoSMART portfolio of fleet and console software options that provide real-time information, so that one may track critical information and reduce environmental impact.

The collection of solutions will enable, all in all, cost reduction of 30% and, with HP Managed Print Services, energy consumption reduction of up to 80%.

“The fastest and easiest way to reduce environmental impact, save money and boost productivity is to make the most of the energy we use today,” said Engelina Jaspers, vice president, Environmental Sustainability, HP.

“HP provides its customers with the scope and portfolio to deliver a seamless experience for customers who want to manage their energy usage in the connected world.”

Most of the launches were made the Unlocking Your Energy event in San Francisco.

Finally, HP went one step further and developed the HP EcoSolutions Store, an online resource with over 300 ENERGY STAR-qualified and EPEAT registered products.
