Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system hasn't really impressed as many people as the company, or analysts, had hoped for.

That opened doors to unexpected opportunities, such as systems running Linux instead.

As it happens, a Linux-loaded computer (Ubuntu) is precisely what HP has just launched in the United Kingdom, and will probably send to the rest of the world in time.

Called Pavilion 20-b101ea, it is an all-in-one PC, or AiO PC for short, and has a starting price of £349 including VAT. That means $530 / €405, give or take, according to exchange rates.

HP Store (UK) has the listing. Apparently, an AMD E1-1200 APU with AMD Radeon HD 7310 Graphics is used (1.4 GHz), plus 4 GB RAM, a 500 GB SATA HDD and all the expected connectivity and I/O ports and plugs.

The newcomer also gets 10-inch display (1600 x 900 pixels), among other things.
