As we said when we reported on the impending arrival of a new Windows 8 tablet, HP has launched quite a few new personal computers, both desktops and laptops. Here we will check out the latter.

The company, which continues to be the greatest PC supplier (although for how long remains to be seen) has unveiled something for every computer segment: business, consumer, ultrathin, etc.

We'll start with the ProBook 4445s, 4446s and 4545s. Designed for enterprise applications, they feature AMD Trinity APUs (accelerated processing units), VISION Pro Technology, AMD Dynamic Switchable Graphics (when discrete GPUs exist) and, when needed, AMD Radeon Dual Graphics.

They ship for $499 / 499 Euro or more, but only the ProBook 4545s is currently shipping. The other two will arrive later, and only in Japan and Asia-Pacific.

On the entertainment and performance front, HP has the ENVY m4 notebook PC, with a 14-inch screen and an Intel Core central processor. It starts at $899.99 / 899.99 Euro and will be available starting October 26.

Then we have the HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 and Pavilion Sleekbook 15 PCs, ultrathins set to battle Intel-based ultrabooks. The former uses an AMD's Trinity processor, while the latter gets an Intel CPU with Hyper-Threading.

Measuring 14 and 15.6 inches in diagonal, respectively, they come with HP TrueVision HD Webcams, video calling through HP MyRoom, HP CoolSense (lower temperature), HP ProtectSmart (prevents file loss) and other exclusive technologies.

Other relevant details about the two slim notebooks include USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI outputs, a numeric keypad (on the 15) and up to 1 TB storage.

The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 has a starting price of $499.99 / 499.99 Euro and a shipment date of October 26. The Sleekbook 15 will be delivered starting on the same day, but with a price of $559.99 / 599.99 Euro or above.
