Last week, we stumbled upon reports about HP possibly wishing to change its brand logo and philosophy, but this isn't actually happening, it turns out.

Going by the findings of Brand New, HP did commission the services of Moving Brands, but that was back in 2008.

The company did use one of the designs, but not the logo.

What's more, if HP had followed through with the 2008 plan to change the brand looks, it would have gone deeper than the logo, down to product design and such.

After the whole PC and webOS fiasco, some people are thinking that a change of face is exactly what HP needs.

Nevertheless, HP's round, blue logo isn't going anywhere fast, even though some may think it would be a good idea if it was.
