This has been one full day for HP, as the Palo Alto, California-based company has just announced a series of new computer systems that will be part of the company's portfolio for the upcoming holiday shopping season. Following the introduction of the ENVY laptop series, the new, NVIDIA ION-based Mini 311 netbook and the new, ultraportable ProBook and Pavilion laptops, the company has decided to also announce the launch of a new desktop PC, coming in an all-in-one configuration. Part of the company's Pavilion lineup, and dubbed MS200, the new desktop is featured with a low-power processor and is expected to ship with the much-anticipated Windows 7 operating system.

“The Pavilion MS200 gives consumers the brilliance of a large high-definition monitor plus the space saving benefits of a notebook PC,” John Cook, vice president of marketing, Global PC Business, Personal Systems Group, HP, said. “It's truly fun and easy to use with an elegant design that fits well anywhere in the home.”

According to the specifications of the new, all-in-one desktop PC from HP, users will be able to take advantage of an AMD Athlon X2 3250e dual-core processor, clocked at a cool 1.5GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and the integrated Radeon HD 3200 graphics chip. All that inside a desktop PC that integrates an 18.5-inch HD LCD display that also features a built-in webcam and a microphone. Additional features include a 320GB hard drive, a slim 8x DVD writer, a 10/100 LAN, an 802.11 b/g wireless connectivity and a 6-in-1 card reader.

Due out on October 18, the system is expected to ship with Microsoft's next-generation Windows 7 operating system, all for a starting price tag of US$599. Taking all the specifications into consideration, the MS200 desktop appears to be an interesting choice for users looking for a home PC that can handle all the basic computing requirements.
