HP has already released a pair of ENVY series laptops, but its product launch is hardly restricted to that, as the PC supplier has also prepared a modified version of the Pavilion dm3 laptop, a 13.3-inch mobile computer that has just been equipped with a cooler based on the CoolSense technology.

Apparently, HP wanted to mark the beginning of the month with a slew of product releases, so it showed off the ENVY 17 and the ENVY 14, among other things.

The Pavilion dm3 laptop was unveiled at the same time as these two and is housed inside an enclosure made of metal alloys, non-conductive surfaces, soft-touch paint and vents that minimize heat.

The cooling design also channels the heat away from the base of the laptop, for an extra touch of comfort.

This CoolSense Technology, which combines special hardware with a cooling software that automatically adjusts fan speeds according to workload, is the main asset of the notebook.

“HP Thermal Assistant software detects how the PC is being used – for example, around the house or on a desk – and an accelerometer automatically shifts into either a maximum cooling mode or maximum performance mode based on the customer’s choice,” explains the official press release.

In terms of performance, the computer runs on an Intel Core i3 or Core i5 central processing unit (CPU), and the processor is paired with 4GB of RAM.

The machine also boasts a hard disk drive of 320GB, as well as a battery that can keep it operational for up to 7.5 hours.

“Offering up to 7.5 hours of battery life and measuring less than 1-inch thin, the HP Pavilion dm3 gives consumers the ideal balance of mobility and performance in an affordable, slim and light notebook PC,” the announcement adds.

According to its maker, the Pavilion dm3 is already available in the United States, priced at $549.
