Some of you might remember, a while back HP introduced the HP Envy 17 Leap Motion, which was hailed as the world’s first laptop to allows users to control apps and interact with the device by virtue of hand and finger movements (via Leap Motion integrated technology).

Well, this premium product has made it into the Indian market, as well and will sell for Rs. 114,000 / $1,833 / €1,339, says Tech2.

Leap Motion technology is capable of capturing hand, wrist and finger movement and convert this information in appropriate signals that can be read by the computer, which will react accordingly.

Back when the laptop was first introduced on the American market, Leap Motion Co-found and CEO Michael Buckwald advised users to try the technology they patented with applications like Google Earth or when trying to manage 3D projects, to get optimal results.

Those purchasing the laptop, will be able to tap into Leap Motion’s own app store and grab a variety of gesture-enabled games, creative tools and educational apps.

Moving on to the laptop per-se, the HP Envy 17 Leap Motion integrates a 17-inch screen which boasts a full-HD resolution (1920 x 1280 pixels) and is of course multitouch-enabled.

Under the hood, HP has placed a quad-core Intel Core i7-4702MQ processor running 2.2GHz (in Turbo Boost mode it can go as far as 3.2GHz) fitted with NVIDIA GeForce GT750M with 4GB of video RAM and 8GB of RAM.

To encourage maximum productivity, HP also bundled the laptop with a substantial 1TB hard drive and Windows 8. If customers aren't happy with the keyboard being offered here, the HP webstore offers several choices for alternative speakers and mice to be fitted with the Envy.

Surely, the HP Envy 17 with Leap Motion is a premium machine and we’re pretty curious to see if there’s a demand on the Indian market for some machinery.
