Seems to have suffered a price boost

Among other things, HP is known at present as the greatest supplier of personal computers worldwide, above even Acer and Dell when it comes to overall PC shipments. This is because, in addition to offering quality items, it has a very extensive collection of products ready to swarm at any given time. One of the more recent additions to its wide portfolio goes by the name of Envy 14 and is its latest DirectX 11-capable notebook to make it to the US market.

“With these new designs, we offer customers a broad portfolio of notebook PCs […] that are innovative on the outside and the inside,” Kevin Frost, vice president and general manager, Consumer Notebooks, Personal Systems Group, HP, said. “Each notebook provides a unique experience for the customer and allows customers to express their personality.”

Frost said this back in May, when the Envy 14, along with 17, was first detailed. Now, the same machine has finally started selling, though its price of $1,099 is roughly $100 higher than what was initially suggested. The hardware, on the other hand, does not fail to impress. For one, an Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 central processing unit provides both computing and integrated graphics, though a mobility Radeon HD 5650 card makes the latter rather obsolete. The PC also boasts a native screen resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels and up to 8GB of RAM.

Other specifications of the device include an 8x DVD writer, a backlit keyboard, all the necessary connectivity and I/O and an 8-cell battery. All of these parts and chips are crammed inside a 1.1-inch thick precision-etched metal alloy case. The Hp Envy 14 can be ordered through the official product page and is pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows 7 Home premium, Professional or Ultimate.
