14 DAY TRIAL // Earlier in December, HP pulled the veil off a new stylish customizable notebook aimed at business users, called the EliteBook Folio 1040 G1.
Now the new laptop has been made available for purchase in the official HP store, with prices ranging from $1,299 / €945 to a hefty $1,979 / €1,440.
The 14-inch laptop features some new design feats never seen before with such pieces of technology. It should also be noted that the new product measures a meager 15.9 mm/ 0.62 inches and weighs 3.3 pounds / 1.49 kg, but do not be fooled by this thin frame.
The EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 is quite invincible and won’t easily sustain damage, albeit being so “delicate.” The device boasts MIL_STD 810G certification which translates into it being capable of withstanding drops, bumps and the occasional bruise.
The product has been created with the mobile professional in mind, who needs high performance while on the go. The EliteBook Folio offers a choice between Intel Core i5-4200U, i5-4300U and i7-4600U processors (from the Haswell family) with Intel HD 4440 integrated graphics.
For those craving for more, however, there’s the possibility of opting for i7-4650U with Intel HD 5000 for an added graphic boost extravaganza.
In the display department, customers can choose between a resolution of 1600 x 900 and 1920 x 1080 pixels. HP also throws in a touch-screen option, for those that are more comfortable working like that.
Now for that special feat we've been telling you about, which you can’t find anywhere else. The EliteBook Folio comes equipped with the so-called ForcePad that is basically a new kind of clickpad.
So now if you want to access a program, you won’t have to click on its icon but push your hand against the palmrest of the laptop in order to achieve the same results.
As security is very important for business use, HP has bundled the laptop finger print-sensor, which is located on the right side. Furthermore, there’s also a backlit keyboard, Smart Card reader and docking port.
As you can see, you can customize the HP EliteBook Filio 1040 G1 anyway you want it and if you have some money to spend, this is certainly a product to check out.
