Those following up on the tech industry might be aware that the Computex trade show is currently under way in Taiwan. And as many major players of the field couldn't miss the opportunity to show us something juicy.

The chip giant has just unleashed its latest set of laptop-bound Kaveri mobile chips. In league with the company’s announcement, HP has immediately pushed out three new business models bundling the architecture, that are going by the name of EliteBook 700 Series.

If AMD chips aren't your thing, no need to despair. HP is also prepping a line of EliteBook 7 series notebook bundling Intel goodness that is scheduled to arrive in August.

For the time being, let’s review the new Kaveri-equipped HP laptops that have been unveiled today.

HP EliteBook 725 G2 This is the smallest notebook from the new lineup. It comes with a 12.5-inch display and weighs just 3 lbs / 1.3 kg.

Like with many of its professional products, HP is throwing in a bunch of different configuration options.

But by default each model will come equipped with a spill-resistant backlit keyboard, 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, DisplayPort, VGA ports, Ethernet jack, docking connector, optional LTE module and headset jack. The laptops have also undergone MIL-SPEC 810G testing, so they should be pretty resistant.

Now for the juicy part, under the hood HP may put an AMD Pro A6-7050B dual-core chip, AMD Pro A8-7150B quad-core processor or AMD Pro A10-7350B quad-core chip, all in combination with AMD Radeon Graphics.

The device has 16GB of storage, but hard drive and solid state storage options are also available. As for resolution, one can go for either 1366 x 768 or 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.

The Elitebook 725 G2 will be made available in June for $799 / €587.

HP EliteBook 745 G2

The 745 bumps things a little bit in the display department by throwing in a 14-inch option. However, that’s not all, with the bigger model you also get more choices.

For example, in the display department you can opt for either 1366 x 768, 1600 x 900 or 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. Processor and storage options remain the same.

Battery-wise, users can go for 24Whr or 50Whr plus an optional secondary battery in the form of a 60Whr module that can be attached to pump power at the bottom of the lappy.

The HP EliteBook 745 G2 will be available this month for $739 / €543 and up.

Last but not least comes the larger of the lineup, the 15.6-inch model. Specifications are quite similar, except the optional battery and 1600 x 900 pixel display options have been removed from the menu.

The HP EliteBook 755 G2 will also arrive this month and retail for $749 / €550 and up.
