Since Dell has just unveiled its first Chromebook targeted at the educational sector, HP doesn't want to be forgotten by pupils and teachers.

So the PC manufacturer has just announced it is offering an updated version of its Classmate notebook, that adds Bay Trail-driven power under the hood, Notebook Italia reports.

The upgraded laptop now draws power from an Intel Celeron N2000 series processor and comes pre-installed with Windows 8.1 and a bunch of other specific software.

The small-sized laptop features a 10-inch display that can be titled back with 180 degrees, so students can stretch it out on any surface if they want to. The Classmate embeds USB 2.0, USB 3.0, an HD webcam and HDMI out.

The mini notebook designed to facilitate study and learning will see the light of day in January and should sell for an acceptable price (it’s targeted at pupils after all).
