The HP Chromebook 11 has been in the spotlight a lot lately. And this is because the laptop has been dealing with some issues related to a charger getting overheated.

After pulling the affected product off retail shelves at BestBuy and everywhere else online, we were left wondering whether HP and Google will continue with the device. And it appears, the answer is yes.

The HP Chromebook 11’s charger has been re-designed and improved, so customers looking to purchase a new laptop won’t have to worry about facing the same pesky issues.

Google has already started shipping replacement chargers (new re-designed ones with the Chrome branding on them) to affected customers, awarding them an extra Google Play Store gift card.

Google has also added an official apology latter on behalf of the Chromebook team, to every charger it has shipped out.

So the problems seem to have been fixed. Therefore, it’s no wonder we can now spot the Chromebook 11 back in stock on Amazon and the device is available to be ordered.

Nevertheless, the Chrome-enhanced laptop is still not available at retailers like BestBuy or the Google Play store. Not yet, anyway.

At the moment, only the white/blue variants of the Chromebook 11 seem to be available for order on Amazon. Google and HP have decided to keep selling the device at the same exact price it sold before, meaning $279 / €203.

We’re not exactly sure if this is a smart move on behalf of the two companies, who seemingly hope to brush all memories of the pesky issues aside. Hopefully, we won’t have to report again the Chromebook is confronted with the same issues.

The specs of the Chromebook remain unchanged, so customers will be getting an 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 760 pixel resolution. Power is drawn from a Samsung Exynos 5250 ARM CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM backed up by 16GB of internal storage.

As with every Chromebook 100GB Google Drive storage is awarded for the next two years and a 60-day free trial for Google Play Music All Access and 12 free GoGo Inflight Internal passes.
