Late last year, HP, one of the world's most recognizable brands of consumer PCs, updated its line of TouchSmart systems with the addition of two new models, the 300 and 600 series. Providing users with a choice for 20-inch or 23-inch, touch-enabled solutions, these new systems took full advantage of the touch capabilities built into Microsoft's latest Windows 7 operating system. On that note, the Palo Alto, California-based company seems to have updated one of this models to support Intel's latest mobile Core i7 processors, giving users a bit more performance, on the long run.

The TouchSmart 600 Quad series will now offer a choice for Intel's Core i7-720QM quad-core processor, featuring a clock speed of 1.6GHz and 6MB of L2 cache. Otherwise, the specifications remain the same, with the system being powered by 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a large-capacity 720GB SATA hard drive and the aforementioned Windows 7 OS with its touch-friendly interface.

Looking to step up your game, HP will allow you to reconfigure your system with speedier processors, such as the Core i7-820QM, clocked at 1.73GHz and coupled with up to 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 1.5TB 7200RPM SATA hard drive. There's an NVIDIA GeForce GT230M graphics card that offers 1GB of graphics memory, while the rest of the system should set you up for a complete personal computing experience.

The new TouchSmart 600 Quad series starts at US$1,699.99, which should set you up with an all-in-one PC, featuring Microsoft's Windows 7 experience and some of the latest components available on the market. There are other models available on HP's website, offering a choice for a more affordable all-in-one PC. Such is the case with the TouchSmart 300z series, launched alongside the 600 series, in October, last year. This starts at just US$799 and is based on an AMD platform.
