Palo Alto, California-based Hewlett-Packard is expected to debut a new line of ultraportable computer systems that will further expand the company's Pavilion line of laptops. According to a recently leaked consumer catalog for the PC vendor's Winter 2009/2010 period, HP will roll out its new dv3 series, which will boast TouchSmart functionality and an ultraportable design. In addition, the catalog also details a couple of other models designed by one of the world's leading vendors of computer systems.

The gang over at Engadget have been lucky enough to get their hands on a leaked catalog of HP's Winter 2009/2010 product offering, which details a new dv3 laptop series, along with a high-performance ready Pavilion dv8 and a CULV-based Pavilion dm1. From the three, the dv3 stands out as one of the more interesting ones, as it boasts a 13.3-inch touchscreen display with HP's TouchSmart software, which enables users to interact with their favorite multimedia content via a customizable and touch-enabled interface. The machine will support up to 500GB hard disk drives and feature NVIDIA's GeForce G105M GPU, combined with a maximum of 8GB of internal memory.

The dm1 PC series is for those who want the portability of a regular netbook, but with the technical specifications of a more performance-capable system. The rig has been featured with an 11.6-inch HD LED widescreen (1366 x 768) display and is capable of supporting up to 500GB of hard disk space and up to 5GB of DDR3 memory. The system is based on Intel's ultra-low voltage processors.

Designed for entertainment, the upcoming dv7 series will make full use of Intel's latest line of Core i7 processors for the multimedia segment. The machine will mix an 18.4-inch Full HD display with up to 1TB of storage space and NVIDIA's GeForce GT 230M with 1024MB of graphics memory.
