The latest HP mobile computer system was designed and manufactured by its specialized gaming division, Voodoo and it just came up with the ENVY M:152 laptop. While being one of the fastest laptops around, it is not gaining any lead over the competing offering from other reputed laptop builders as it is made up of mostly middle to high end hardware components, while sporting a price tag that may scare off some customers.

According to the manufacturing company's press release concerning the Voodoo ENVY M:152 laptop, this gaming intended machine comes equipped with an Intel made hardware platform based on Centrino Duo technology that includes the Core 2 Duo mobile processor technology, the Mobile Intel PM965 Express Chipset and the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN. As it also supports the latest mobile processing unit , the X7800 Extreme, from Intel, the new HP Voodoo gaming laptop packs some performance while keeping the mobile part of the system alive.

In order to increase its portability and maybe prolong its battery life also, HP installed a smaller 15.4 widescreen display that comes with a native resolution of 1680x1050 and while the ENVY M:152 does not come with the best from the mobile graphics processing units producers, it does feature a respectable Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT that comes with its dedicated video memory.

''People look to Voodoo custom machines to deliver the best in power and design, and we stayed true to that tradition when building this mobile powerhouse,'' said Rahul Sood, chief technology officer, Global Gaming Business Unit, HP. ''The ENVY M:152 combines the best in processing power and performance with a hot design and the latest in wireless technology. It is built for people that want to push the limits of mobile computing, and look good doing it.''

Apart from the standard features that are to be found in any modern day laptop system, the HP Voodoo ENVY M:152 also comes equipped with an integrated 2 megapixel Web camera, as well as Bluetooth support, while it offers security features like the fingerprint reader. Returning to the performance department, it is equipped with two DDR2 memory slots so it is able to accommodate a maximum of 4GB of random access memory when used with a 64-bit based operating system.
