In celebration of its 23rd Anniversary on 25 November 2011, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (“HKCEC”) today launched its new HKCEC iPhone  app.

Downloadable free of charge today, HKCEC App is the official mobile application presented by the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd (HML).

“We offer comprehensive information about the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) including event calendar, floor plans and facilities inside the Centre,” the developers say.

A premier international exhibition and convention destination, the HKCEC is the only show to provide more than 91,500 sqm of rentable space right in the heart of Hong Kong.

The HKCEC app features a cool “Event Calendar” that lists major upcoming exhibitions, conferences and special events at the HKCEC.

Search can be done by date, nature of event or keyword. Users can instantly add the event to their own iPhone calendar, while organizers gain an additional channel for promoting their events.

The “Transportation” function offers directions to the HKCEC from Hong Kong International Airport and other key locations, for overseas visitors, and “Where to Eat” lists the different restaurants at the HKCEC, complete with their locations and floor plans.

Other useful functions include “Floor Plan”, “About HKCEC”, “My Tools”, “Tips”, & “Contact Us”.

Ms Monica Lee-Müller, Deputy Managing Director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd (“HML”), commented: “We are proud and excited to be one of the first exhibition venues in the region to offer this new communication channel.”

“The HKCEC app now puts information about the HKCEC and its events right at the fingertips of our users and visitors. This new initiative is part of HML’s commitment to continuously enhancing our services, and caters directly to the increasing population of smartphone users in Hong Kong and worldwide,” Ms Lee-Müller added.

HKCEC promises to have an Android-ready version released soon.
