
20th Century Fox has hired Skip Woods to adapt its feature version of videogame Hitman, according to Variety.
The Swordfish and Thursday writer will take up on the story which revolves around an international assassin, known as Agent 47, who works for a mysterious organization dubbed the Agency.
Skip Woods has also penned the remake of Logan's Run at Warner Bros.
The Eidos game franchise was picked up by 20th Century Fox in June, from producers Chuck Gordon and Adrian Askarieh.
The studio is also looking at Hitman as a potential franchise.
The first three games in the "Hitman" franchise have sold more than 5 million units, according to Comingsoon.net.
Eidos, which was recently acquired by Sci Games, is currently working on another sequel, titled "Hitman: Blood Money."
The Hitman movie will be executive produced by Vin Diesel, while Daniel Alter will serve in a producing capacity.
The 38-year-old actor will also star as Agent 47.
The Pacifier star will next be seen in Find Me Guilty. Diesel is also to appear in Hannibal and he will voice a character in Rockfish.
