While AMD is working with its chip manufacturing partner, TSMC, to improve the availability of its line of Radeon HD 5xxx-series of 40nm-based graphics cards, the company's board partners continue to release new cards, based on existing GPUs. Such is the case with HIS, one of AMD's leading graphics card partner, which is reportedly planning to unveil a new card that will boast the famous IceQ+ cooling solution. According to available details,
the new card will be based on AMD's Radeon HD 5750 graphics processing unit, making it a choice for mainstream users looking for hardware support for the upcoming DirectX 11 titles.
We expect a number of these custom-designed Radeon HD 5xxx-series to be announced in the upcoming weeks, but for the time being, the HIS HD 5750 IceQ+ appears to be closer to availability. The card will sport the Juniper graphics processing unit clocked at stock frequencies, with 700MHz for the GPU and 4600MHz for the memory. Based on a blue PCB and featuring a dual-slot cooler, the card will provide users with support for the latest gaming applications, while the available 720 Stream processors will enable games to run at smooth frame rates.
Additional features that have been enabled in HIS' upcoming Radeon graphics card include a 128-bit memory interface, DirectX 11 and CrossFireX support, a single DVI port, coupled with HDMI and DisplayPort outputs and a bundled Bumptop 3D desktop environment. In addition, to sweeten the offer, the company will include a redemption coupon for Dirt 2, which won't be available on all models, according to available details.
Reports on the Internet claim that the HIS HD 5750 IceQ+ graphics card could soon be made available (although the available details are yet to be unveiled) for prices around 140-150 Euro.
