HIS decided to capitalize on its status as manufacturing partner for Advanced Micro Devices so it delivered a whole slew of new graphics cards, two of which are of the 'simple' IceQ X variety.

Graphics card vendors often launch some sort of new product or another, especially after AMD or NVIDIA trumpet some newcomer, but the times when they unleash more than just one or two models are fewer.

Nevertheless, unleash a whole slew of graphics controllers is precisely what HIS did a short time ago, although the cards are all just variations of the same stock adapter.

The video board in question is the AMD Radeon HD 6950 and all newcomers are serviced by the IceQ X cooler.

That said, they are six in total and can be looked at in pairs, differentiated only by their amount of video memory.

The pair in this case are the 'standard' HD 6850 IceQ X. One card has 1 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, while the other has 2 GB.

Their GPUs (graphics processing units) are clocked at 800 MHz, while the memory itself works at 5,000 MHz.

Additionally, the memory interface is of 256 bits, while connectivity to one or more display at once is provided by a mini DisplayPort, an HDMI connector and dual-DVI.

As for the IceQ X cooler itself, it has a 9.2 mm silent fan, four heatpipes and direct contact with both the GPU and other areas of the card.

Other specifications include Dynamic Phase Control PWM IC, solid state choke and full solid state capacitors, for extra stability.

Needless to say, DirectX 11, Eyefinity (for triple-display setups) and Blu-ray 3D, among other features, are fully supported. All in all, the newcomers should be able to handle most anything thrown at them.

Prices were not given, although the product pages can be found here (1GB) and here (2GB).
