NVIDIA and ATI (business unit of AMD) are the two main developers of graphics processing units (GPUs), with all hardware makers being capable, more often than not, of only redesigning the original cards with special features. One of the latest customized cards is the Radeon HD 5770, and the hardware manufacturer that gave it its new and cooler look is Hightech Information System.
HIS redesigned the 5770 card with a blue PCB, but did not change its frequencies. As such, the HIS HD 5770 Fan operates at stock clocks of 850 MHz for the GPU and of 4800 MHz for the memory. What this product does have different is the cooling mechanism. The adapter is employed as a dual-slot cooling module.
The adapter is built with 1GB of GDDR5 memory with an interface of 128 bits. It measures 21.27 X 12 X 4 cm (HxWxD) and has a maximum attainable resolution of 2560 x 1600. Of course, the device is designed for the PCI Express x16 interface and boasts HDMI and a single DVI output, as well as a DisplayPort.
Like the reference card, the HIS HD 5770 Fan has all DirectX 11 graphcis features and support for ATI Stream. The product is also usable in CrossFireX configurations and features the ATI EyeFinity technology for a triple-monitor display.
The graphics adapter will be usable in system configurations with at least 1GB of memory and a suitable power supply. The PSU itself must be of at least 450W and needs at least one 75W, 6-pin PCI Express power connector. Of course, for dual-mode CrossFireX scenarios, the PSU will need at least 600W of power and two 6-pin connectors.
The product will be sold with or without the Dirt 2 bundle and will be priced at around 140 to 150 Euro. Consumers may find a list of suitable power supplies
