Your eyes are probably sparkling when you see LCD or plasma widescreen TVs on the store's shelves. So, you want a HDTV but you don't want to spend big bucks on it? Then we have an affordable solution: Cats Eye USB, a HDTV tuner that comes bundled with the BeyondTV software application.

This software allows you to watch on your laptop or desktop display HDTV transmission, using HDTV features like pause, fast forward, rewind, record and also searching TV listings and recording
hour's setup. It is also possible to access it through the Web for programming the shows to be recorded, even if you're not home. And for everything to be easier, the FireFly remote control allows the coordination of all the features wirelessly.

USB-A 3650 aims at being a quality ATSC (Advanced Television System Committee) Terrestrial HDTV receiver, and it is optimized for receiving ATSC video and audio signal and also IP data.
ATSC is the name of the technical standard that defines the digital TV (DTV), being chosen by the terrestrial TV stations, using MPEG-2 as a compression standard.

The new receiver connects to a PC using an USB cable and it is capable of receiving information through the ATSC channel at speeds up to 19,28 MBs. The data feeds are captured and sent to the computer using USB 2.0, transferring with speeds up to 480 MBs.

In conformity with the ATSC standards, Cats Eye USB should be easy to install, offering the flexibility and performance asked by TV applications like Windows XP Media Center Edition from Microsoft. With its small size, 8X10X4 cm, USB-A 3650 supports ATSC audio, video and data transmission.

Digital television signals allow the data sent by the TV station to be much denser and to contain more information besides the audio and video signal, without signal loss. Therefore, digital television has a better image and sound quality. Although few television channels broadcast in HDTV mode, the users have enough time to get the necessary equipments for a full digital experience.
