Some people just like to use the cheap way....

Cheap is not always better...

I'm not exactly a fan of the "do-it-yourself" accessories of software, but some people use this solution to avoid spending too much money of seemingly useless hardware. For example, the Xbox 360 wireless adapter costs
$100 and it seems to be the only one working on Microsoft's console. The HDMI cable will make the Xbox 360 give all it's got, both visually and in the audio department. Too bad that it costs $50...

However, a pioneer came up with an interesting idea that allows him to plug in a cheap-o HDMI cable. This seems to apply to the Xbox 360 Premium consoles, as they feature a HDMI port, that doesn't support an A/V cable and a HDMI one plugged at the same time. The quick way out of trouble is Microsoft $50 special cable, or the hacker's solution: removing the plastic casing that surrounds the A/V cable's connector.

By doing that you'll use the room left to plug in that cheap HDMI cable... Yeah, the guy's got skills, but I'm not the one to fumble with the Xbox 360's hardware, especially after paying a load of money for the console. The gaming device has enough problems as it is (or rather had), like the famous Red Ring of Death or the overheating issues, so toying with it is not exactly the best move right now. What about you? Are you willing to risk a medium-priced console because of a $50 cable? Don't blame me if your Xbox is going to need a run through Microsoft service, in case various hardware issues surface.

* Note: We remind you that Softpedia does not support hacking, modding, DIY actions and other such console harming actions. The risk is all yours in case you decide to pull such a stunt.

Ahhh, that's a good idea. That plastic casing is always gets in the way. I just hope the metal part inside isn't live and shock causing. And by the way Alexandru, this hack does not affect the console itself, it's just the cable, which can be easily and cheaply replaced.
