Of course, thePlatform’s mpx video management system now offers the entire range of IIS Smooth Streaming benefits, including dynamic adaptive streaming over HTTP, scalability and support for multiple file formats.
Full HD 1080p media experiences can be offered both through live and on-demand content to customers running Windows PCs and Mac computers, the two companies revealed.

In addition to the Smooth Streaming feature of IIS Media Services, thePlatform also integrated Microsoft PlayReady into its video management system.
PlayReady is the software giant’s digital rights management (DRM) technology designed for media companies to easily take advantage of content protection capabilities for the videos they serve to customers.

According to Microsoft and thePlatform, end users leveraging the Comcast Xfinity TV service will be the first to receive videos provided through the mpx video management system after the integration of PlayReady and IIS Smooth Streaming.
