Back in 2005, “The Comeback” managed to score only 13 episodes before being shelved, but now the comedy series is making a return to HBO, starring Lisa Kudrow, the “Friends” star.

At the moment, it looks like the show couldn't have been more aptly named, since it's making a comeback on the screen, as HBO agreed to six more episodes that are going to premiere this fall.

Chief of Programming at HBO, Michael Lombardo, claims that “The Comeback holds a special place in the hearts of its many fans, including many of us here at HBO. I can't wait to find out what Valerie's been up to since we last met.”

For her part, Kudrow, the actress playing the title character, admits that “It was almost too fun [to] play Valerie Cherish the first time around. I look forward to revisiting this resilient and ironically self-unaware character.”

The comedy called “The Comeback” follows the adventures of Valerie Cherish, a D-grade actress who is struggling to make a comeback in her film career by starring in a fake-reality show called, what else, but “The Comeback.”

Yes, it does sound like something from “Inception,” but HBO promises it's going to be good: “in the new episodes, Valerie continues her search to attain the spotlight, but this time around, it illuminates a whole new series of problems when she achieves the visibility she wants.”
