We announced last month that HBO would partner with Apple to launch its next-generation online video streaming service, HBO Now, to the Apple TV. The service has been officially launched, and you can get a 30-day free trial today from its official website.

HBO Now is what we needed right now when all major video streaming services are already at their highest peak (e.g. Netflix). With HBO Now, there's no need to get a cable subscription anymore if all you want is to watch movies and TV shows.

HBO's new standalone video streaming service was supposed to be launched at the end of this week along with the premiere of the fifth season of the acclaimed Game of Thrones TV show, on April 12, but it’s here today.

All you need is an Internet connection to get HBO

If you go now to the official website of the HBO Now video streaming service, you will be able to start a free trial for 30 days. All you need is an Internet connection to get HBO and watch its entertaining shows.

"HBO NOW is the new standalone streaming service from HBO," was stated on the website. "Get instant access to all of HBO, including every episode of every season of the best of HBO's award-winning original programming, plus exclusive Hollywood blockbusters."

Now available on iTunes for Apple TV and iOS devices

Once the free trial ends, you will have to pay the sum of $14.99 (€13.5) per month for the subscription. At the moment, the service is available only for iTunes users via Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch devices, or on the Optimum broadband service.

Unfortunately, the HBO Now service is not available from other providers at the moment of writing this article, but give it time, because it will most probably be launched worldwide in the coming months. Make sure you watch the promo video below for more details!
