When creating any new hardware product, companies sometimes choose between implementing some special feature or going for a unique design in order to give their invention a bigger appeal. Still, there is no rule that says both moves can't be done at the same time, and this is exactly what NZXT appears to have decided upon. The company just unveiled its latest series of highly-stable power supplies that promise both a high level of performance, as well as the feeling of novelty by virtue of their less than ordinary coloring.

Most hardware makers don't bother too much with the color of PSUs, which has led to the current situation where almost all of them have the same, uniform gray color. Granted, some outfits went for a more stylish black coating. NZXT, on the other hand, decided to color the new HALE90 series white. Nevertheless, in the end, it is their performance that will truly determine their marketing prowess.

The power supply line has multiple members, with wattages spanning the entire 550W-1000W range. To be more specific, five models exist, of 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W and 1,000W, respectively. All of them are compliant with the ATX 12V v2.2 and the EPS 12V v2.92 standards. They also have flat cables, better wire management and a consumption of only 1W while they are shut off. Furthermore, they each employ a 140mm dual ball-bearing fan and have already started shipping, eager to land in performance-level and high-end consumer systems. Finally, all newcomers bear 80Plus Gold certification and boast a single 12V rail

The HALE90 550W and 650W PSUs are selling for $119.99/€109.99 and $139.99/€129.99, respectively. Also, the 750W unit costs $159.99/€149.99, whereas the stronger 850W and 1,000W are priced at $179.99/€169.99 and $209.99/€199.99, respectively. All are accompanied by a five-year warranty.
