While most products are made with the express goal of being sold to as many customers as possible, others come in limited quantities, warning the name of collector's items, and Hasselblad has just released a camera of the sort.

Hasselblad developed the H4D-40 some time ago, a line of cameras that proved most appealing, and it seems that popular demand led to the release of a new iteration of the line.

Basically, all H4D-40 cameras are built around a solid steel body, and customers wanted cameras that had the same type of construction.

This would make the products not only very sturdy, but would also give them the metallic, smooth looks and feel that is proving to be quite popular, at least to some.

Essentially, Hasselblad has started work on a limited series of H4D-40 Stainless Steel cameras.

There will be 100 of them, all intended as collector's items, which means they will boast performance capabilities and a price to match the highest standards.

No doubt the most important of the specification is the True Focus and Absolute Position Lock technology.

They also have a graphical information display, as well as an electronic spirit level and the possibility of making previews in tethered mode.

“The H4D-40 Stainless Steel (like all H4D cameras) was designed to meet the needs of the most demanding high-end commercial photographers,” states the company.

“With these advanced features, Hasselblad continues to develop the ultimate camera system for discerning photographers.”

Those with enough financial backing will be able to acquire on of the 100 models if they move fast enough and are willing to actually pay the 13,990 Euro, though they will not get a lens.

Should they also be in need of an HC 2.8/80mm lens, they will have to part with a total of 14,990 Euro. All available info can be found here.
