Gwyneth Paltrow recently became the brand ambassador / spokesperson of Restorsea, but the products she swears by are entirely natural and very cheap to boot. Coconut oil is just one of them, with the Oscar-winning actress using it both on her skin and for her teeth.

More celebrities have been talking about the practice of oil pulling as of late but, as Paltrow herself also notes in her interview with E! News, it’s been around for a very long time. She for one is thrilled at the results.

“I use coconut oil a lot I do on my face, on my skin and in my cooking. And I just started ‘oil puling,’ which is when you swish coconut oil around [in your mouth] for 20 minutes, and it’s supposed to be great for oral health and making your teeth white. It’s supposed to clear up your skin, as well. It’s really interesting; it’s an ancient, ancient technique. I read about it on the Internet,” the actress says.

Shailene Woodley, who can now be seen in “Divergent,” the latest feature film adaptation of a best-selling young-adult novel, also says she keeps her teeth white, clean and strong with this pulling practice, though she prefers sesame oil.

However, she too said last week that she’d rather maintain her pearly whites in top shape by using all-natural ingredients instead of getting other types of procedures.

Paltrow is willing to try less than natural remedies and treatments as well, saying in the same interview that it’s important to find a balance between the two, as long as you keep a very watchful eye over the chemicals used in the products you do decide to use.

“I will rely and have relied on things in the past that aren’t 100 percent natural – like if you are going get lasers to get rid of sunspots, that’s not a natural product. So I always think a mix is good, but it’s very important that what you put on your skin is natural, because it’s so readily absorbed into your system and there are so many unregulated chemicals in our products – more so in America than any other country, and so I always try to look for natural or organic product,” she tells the publication.

When it comes to her daily beauty routine, Gwyneth says that, unless she’s scheduled to make a public appearance and she has her stylists come over to do her makeup, she hardly ever wears any. First of all, she never learned how to apply it properly because she always had people do it for her.

At most, if she has a business meeting, she will apply mascara but, most of the time, she just makes sure she gets plenty of exercise, plenty of water and plenty of moisturizing – and she’s set.
