Actress Gwyneth Paltrow recently confessed she wasn't ready for the success she had back in the '90s, arguing she couldn't face the pressure of fame and didn't want to reach the pinnacle of her career so early.
Paltrow's debut film was Shout (1991) and she played in family friend Steven Spielberg's Hook (1991) before starring in Se7en (1995) and dating her co-star Brad Pitt.
Their relationship was much publicized, just like their break-up two years later. Her performance in Emma (1996) received its share of praise. She was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actress two years later for her performance in Shakespeare in Love (1998).
The actress confessed she whished she found success in her later years, because her more recent films have failed to match the huge success of Shakespeare in Love.
Paltrow, who turns 33 today, says: "When you reach the pinnacle of your success at 26, as I did, it's not healthy. It leaves you in a sort of crisis in terms of what you're supposed to be and do for the rest of your life.
I made the mistakes of working too much and it turned out to be really the wrong thing. I just had a lot of life in 10 years. I achieved a lot early, but I wasn't very happy."
Paltrow, who gave birth to her first child, Apple Blythe Alison Martin, on May 14, 2004, with husband Chris Martin of the rock group Coldplay, whom she married in secret on December 5, 2003, said that despite her recent unsuccesses, she's finally happy. She enthuses: "At this point in my life, I have a real life. Having Apple has changed everything for me."
