For a couple of weeks now, Gwyneth Paltrow has been everywhere, promoting her cookbook “My Father’s Daughter.” In response to criticism that she’s coming across as very haughty and uptight, the actress is now saying that haters will always hate: simply because they can never be like her.
People don’t hate Gwyneth for a solid reason. In Gwyneth’s mind, those that take such a strong dislike of her only do so because they project their own insecurities and failures on her, the
New York Daily News quotes her as saying.
In other words, anyone would love to trade places with her but, because they can’t (or because they don’t want to change anything to improve their life), they hate her for doing everything right.
“I think there’s a part of me that because I think I do a lot, I think my work ethic is the reason why I’m successful,” the star says.
“I think that a lot of people don’t want to put in effort and it’s easier not to change, not do something good for you, not work on your relationship, not make yourself a meal, not work out,” Gwyneth adds.
Because they don’t want to do these things, they hate her for doing them all.
“[They’re just] [upset] at someone else doing that,” she puts it in plain English.
Then again, it’s not like Gwyneth will let negativity slow her down or, even worse, make her reconsider and reevaluate who she is as a person. On the contrary, she says.
“I’ll just do what I’m doing because, especially now, we live in a world now where everybody is able to express their opinion,” she says with conviction.
As it turns out, her words had the opposite effect of what she was expecting: instead of making criticism stop, she only made it worse, the aforementioned e-zine says, pointing to the comments the above statement prompted from users.
“Wow, I think she thinks a little too much of herself. She seems to believe she is doing something special; cooking healthy meals for her family, exercising, working, and being a mom. What is she reinventing the wheel? Sounds like most moms,” one user writes, while others point that Gwyneth owes a lot to her rich parents.
