Gwyneth Paltrow is in excellent shape right now – the best she’s been in her life. Sitting down with Self magazine to speak about what she does to look this good, the actress and, most recently, cookbook author, says it’s a lot of work.

After saying in another interview that it’s not easy to be 38, have two children and still rock a swimsuit like a 20something, Gwyneth goes into details: she works out a lot and tries to eat healthy.

However, even for her, things tend to become hiccup-y at times, since Gwyneth is a self-titled foodie, which means she does have this bad habit of overindulging in certain foods she likes the most.

After that, she ends up working out more, but the results are definitely worth it, since she can now proudly say she’s in the best shape of her life, no doubt about it.

“I do 45 minutes of cardio five days a week, because I like to eat. I also try for 45 minutes of muscular structure work, which is toning, realigning and lengthening,” she says.

“If I’m prepping for something or I’ve been eating a lot of pie, I do two hours a day, six days a week for two weeks,” Gwyneth adds.

To get in the best shape possible for the premiere of “Iron Man 2,” she went on a juice diet for 3 days before the big night, she admits for the same publication.

In the end, it’s all about hard work and sacrifices. The results are well worth it, the star stresses: and she’s the best example of that.

“My [backside]!” she says, when asked about her problem area and whether she sees any improvement to it now that she’s been working out so much.

“When Tracy [Anderson, her personal trainer] met me, she said that I had a long, square [backside] that she was going to redesign, and I was, like, ‘Yeah? Good luck.’ The amazing thing is, she was right! And it’s still changing!” Paltrow gushes.
