Because a split is not a split until you go on a “break-up moon”

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are determined to show the world that theirs is anything but a “regular” divorce. First of all, it’s not called that but “conscious uncoupling,” as the actress herself mentioned in the joint announcement a few days ago.

Secondly, it’s a conscious uncoupling that comes with an uncoupling ceremony held on a “break-up moon,” which, in layman terms, would be the exact opposite of a “honeymoon” for the newlyweds.

This is why the two went on a family vacation in the Bahamas right after Gwyneth dropped the divorce uncoupling news on her Goop website, claims a new report in The Daily Star. They’re not hiding from the press, as some speculated, but putting the finishing touches on their breakup.

One of said touches was an uncoupling ceremony officiated by a Kabbalah Rabbi on the beach. “As part of the service the celebrity pair read from the sacred Kabbalah book Zohar, lit a fire, used stones to symbolize their continuing concrete relationship and threw pebbles into the sea to represent their ‘wandering spirits,’” the Daily Star writes.

This might sound like something you too did when you were a kid, for fun, but insiders swear that the whole thing was in earnest: Gwyneth felt as if that’s what they needed to move on from the failed marriage. The ceremony is also believed to help them prepare for whatever lies ahead in life.

It concluded with a goodbye kiss and the two telling each other “Blessed are you in coming in and blessed are you in going out,” the report mentions.

Once Gwyneth and Chris get back home, their main goal will be to come up with a plan to make the divorce as easy as possible on their two children. The kids are also the reason why they’re determined to not make a spectacle out of the divorce proceedings even if, allegedly, there’s some bad blood between them because of cheating on both sides.

As for what else their family trip included besides the uncoupling ceremony, another tipster reveals they also did daily counselling and joint meditation, also meant to help them cope with the breakup.

“They are still extremely close and want to make this as easy for the kids as they can. Gwyneth insisted the separation shouldn’t be seen as a sign of failure but as an ‘inevitable circumstance,’” notes the insider.

Gwyneth and Chris were married for 11 years.
