Nobody can say that when the movie-making madness hits celebrities, it doesn't hit them good! Brand new mommy Gwen is reported to be searching for a new role that will guarantee her entrance in the Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
The 'just a girl' has already made a guest appearance in 'The Aviator' and fans were eagerly expecting it to come out so they can see her acting skills. Unfortunately, when the movie was released it kind of burst their bubble a little as the character Stefani played barely had a few lines to say.
Now, she seems decided to pursue this direction and moviehole.net states that she might be the next leading star in a remake of the '50s movie 'Baby Doll'. The script is written by Tennessee Williams (not to jinx it, but have you noticed that this is the same person that thought that Mariah Carey's acting needed a second chance?) and directed by Elia Kazan.
The story focuses on a very modern couple, a teenage girl and her middle aged husband, who (unlike modern couples) decide to wait a year after taking their vows to consummate their marriage. The husband's business rival suspects that his cotton plant was burned down by him (Baby Doll's husband) and uses the beautiful and tempting teenager as a means of gaining at least an erotic revenge. Sounds interesting...
When it originally came out in 1956, 'Baby Doll' was banned through a manifestation of the US Roman Catholic Church that deemed it to be immoral. If that be the case, we say, even if Gwen stinks, we might still have something to see, don't you think?
