While it's been a while since Gwen Stefani got out something new, her fans have always been there for her: she had an exhausting international tour to finish, and there was sweet mommyhood for her. Now, as a "thank you" to all those who stood by her, the singer just announced that she would release a brand new album and a DVD by the end of the year.
The yet-untitled project will come as a follow up to her 2004 hit 'Love. Angel. Music. Baby.', the album that brought her more fame and added so many people to her fan-base than she ever had when she was singing with the pop-rock band. Just to get the idea, the album sold 3.8 million copies only in the States.
In a post on her official website, Gwen said that she is 'hard at work finishing up some new material'. When quizzed by MTV News, the blonde mommy/singer/designer revealed that some of the tracks were left over from the previous material and that she decided to include them on this one.
'There's a lot of songs that were left over from the last album, and there's some new songs I did with Pharrell [Williams]. There's a lot of Pharrell on this record. I did some stuff with Tony and some stuff with Akon', the 'Just a Girl' star said.
And, not to say that she was completely retired from the spotlight, the fans will also get a brand new DVD, including a live concert Gwen held with her Harajuku Girls in her hometown of Anaheim, California. The DVD will also include bonus features and footage and it will be released on the same date as the album.
