While making some important moves on the transfer market this summer, Real Madrid also thinks about keeping its decisive players on Santiago Bernabeu. And, since David Beckam has already been offered a great deal for another 3-years with the Galacticos, it's time for another "veteran" to be offered a chance to end his career with Real Madrid.

Guti, the man who was born in Torrejón de Ardoz - a little town near Madrid - has been given the great news by Real's
sporting manager, Predrag Mijatovic. The Serb announced Guti that he will be offered a new deal with the Madrilene side until 2010.

His current deal with Real Madrid expires in 2008, but Mijatovic talked to Ramon Calderon and made him realize that Guti is a valuable and decisive player in Capello's plans for the future. The 29-year old pleased the Italian very much this start of the season and will most likely start for Madrid in the "Capello era".

After all, it was Capello himself who told Mijatovic that Guti is not to be transferred anywhere else during his mandate. Therefore, Real Madrid turned down their city rivals' (Atletico) 5-million euros offer to sign the midfielder. Although he was offered 3 million euros per year at Atletico, Guti preferred to stay with the Galacticos.

He also received a boost from Fabio Capello when Real Madrid was linked with the transfer of Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso: "We don't need to spend more money on a midfielder. We have a great one ourselves: Guti".

Real Madrid president, Ramon Calderon, also admitted that - as far as he's concerned - Guti is Real's for life: "Guti played all his professional years at Madrid and I won't allow his departure from the club in the next 2 years. As far as I'm concerned, if he wants, he will end his career with Real Madrid".
