Tips and Tricks

Maybe the most important thing to master in Gunz the Duel is knowing when and how to take cover from fire. To this end, be sure to use corners and 3rd person view to your advantage. I mean always hide behind corners, and when someone's running you by, Shoot them from close range with the shotgun. This weapon does wonders in close range as well as having the ability to deal damage on a small area so youll eventually wear your opponent down. Make sure you shoot somewhat anticipating your enemys movement, as theres a chance that latency isn't perfect, so the foe is actually one step ahead of where you see him. Don't actually aim for the head with the shotgun since most hits will not connect. Aim for the stomach instead for a better damage output since more of the shots will land on your target. Otherwise you can charge your melee weapon and hit him with the smash. Unless you miss, theyll be unconscious for a while. There is also a chance they're lagging have been lucky enough to block it. Anyway, now is the perfect time to take out a weapon, the shotgun being high in the preference top, and quickly dispose of them. Be fast as you want to deal out as much damage as you can. If that doesnt do the trick and your foe is still alive you might have the tendency to stand after they have moved, so time it right and get out of the way.

If you enjoy
playing a lot of team games, med-kits are of the utmost importance. Any time you get low on hit points, just run away, heal up and drop back in the fight with a vengeance. Their effectiveness increases when you have four kits or more, with +10 HP per med-kit. Repair kits, or AP healing, are useless, unless theyre part of your starting accessories. It seems experience teaches us: Med-kits are just better.

If you've ever used Magnums or Pistols, you may have noticed that they actually have a short recoil after each shot. Therefore its useless to spam-shoot with them on account of their dwindling accuracy after each successive shot being fired. However, there is a way around this by just acting sneaky. Youll be able to shoot fast and still have its pin-point accuracy on each shot if you switch to melee after each round. Cooldowns and accuracy dont seem to be linked, thus switch weapons fast and get back to the slaughter. Its a lot faster if you fire your weapon and switch to the sword in mid-air, then jump, switch back to the gun, shoot again, and repeat. This works like a charm and depending on your pistols delay you might even be able to shoot twice in mid air.

Dont forget the level 18 rifle, a great weapon to obliterate your foe with. Then again, there is always the level 20 alternative. You can now try out pistols, Raptors if possible, because they are more accurate and shoot faster. The piercing damage is great as pistols are not AP magnets like rifles. A fast rate of fire directly implies there are going to be some ammo issues along the way, so be sure to shoot moderately. Pistols are uncanny when it comes to long range sniping, especially if the enemy is near death. A different approach might be in order should slash shooters get the best of you, namely a good defensive strategy. Just get like a rifle, MG, or even a SMG, and just tumble backwards, sometime left and right (for dodging purposes) and spray. There are many kills to be had with this technique, since youll have the advantage on pursuers.

With walls that are taller than your character, such as the ones in the middle of battle arena, just use multiple wall jumping. Once youre high enough and you can see above it, quickly pull out a gun and shoot anyone in sight. Its a quick way to pull off surprise attacks. You might want to use a magnum, shotgun, or pistol because those weapons can do a lot of damage in a short period of time.
