Axl Rose is just one continuous string of surprises for his fans and, unfortunately, most of them are very unpleasant. After a controversial return to the music stage, the artist and his Guns N'Roses had to finish off the European tour with a show at Wembley.
But Axl failed to make it on stage until the end of the performance. Plus, he was more than an hour late to begin with but, in the light of past events, he seemed to have made a habit out of it.
Rose left the stage in mid show, without any explanation, leaving the angry fans that came to hear Guns with former Skid Row frontman, guest Sebastina Bach. He was the one who performed the all too famous 'Paradise City'.
At the end, Axl's publicist came on and stated that the artist had to retire because the same morning he had been diagnosed with 'low blood pressure' and 'low blood sugar'. Yet, many of those present honestly believed that the previous gig, on Saturday night, held at Koko in Camden, might have drained all the energy from the rocker's body.
Despite all the problems that Axl faced during the European tour (mostly being his own fault), he said in a statement that he plans to tour America in September. He also took the opportunity to apologize for having disappointed his fans, gathered at Wembley Arena:
'We have had an amazing tour and it has been fantastic for the band and I to experience this. I approached this last show with equal parts determination, obligation, responsibility and insanity. It was an amazing night. I want to thank everyone in Europe and the UK for inspiring us and for giving us the opportunity to play for them'.
No word yet on when will the 'Chinese Democracy' album be available in stores.
