Police in Portland, Oregon have “tentatively” identified the gunman responsible for two deaths in a shopping mall, yesterday.

According to ABC News, they are not releasing any information on the killer. Witnesses described he wore a white hockey mask, black clothing, and a bullet proof vest, when he came in the shopping mall.

As we wrote today, 2 were killed and one person was injured on Tuesday, December 11. “I am the shooter,” the killer announced before unloading his weapon in the shopping center.

He came in through the Macy's store at around 3:30 p.m., and started shooting on the food court level. 60 shots were heard by shoppers at the scene.

The injured victim was accompanied by friends in the mall. Nadia Telguz states that she will recover from the wounds.

“My friend's sister got shot. [...] She's on her way to (Oregon Health and Science University hospital). They're saying she got shot in her side and so it's not life-threatening, so she'll be OK,” Nadia says.

As the SWAT team and 100 law enforcement officers were called in, they found the man shot in the mall.

“I can confirm the shooter is dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. [...] By all accounts there were no rounds fired by law enforcement today in the mall,” Clackamas County Sheriff's Department Lt. James Rhodes says.

10,000 people were in the facility when the shooting occurred, of which some were medical personnel.

“There were a huge amount of people running in different directions, and it was chaos for a lot of citizens, but true heroes were stepping up in this time of high stress. [...] E.R. nurses on the scene were providing medical care to those injured, a physician on the scene was helping provide care to the wounded,” Sheriff Craig Roberts says.
