Since the number of smartphones is on the rise, and the same applies to accessing the Internet from mobile phones, the availability of optimized solutions for such device is something that every user is looking for. With this in mind, the Handcase announced the launch of a new mobile search system, which is called Gune.

The new Gune solution comes as a meta-search system, meaning that it looks over other websites and provides users with a single page of results, optimized for access from mobile phones and smartphones. At the same time, the solution consults other search engines to deliver the results, and the popular Google and Bing are on the list.

“The goal here was to optimize the time of the User and aims to provide a superior experience with search,” notes Ricardo Garay, CEO of Handcase. What makes Gune so different from traditional meta-search websites on the Internet that are based on the same principles, states the company, is the fact that the search results provided are only from mobile search.

Moreover, all results come on a single page, ten of them from each search engine, and Gune also provides the search box at the top and bottom of the page. There is also a catalog of mobile websites that the new solution provides to users, and it seems that all about it is connected strictly to mobile. For the time being, the meta-search system is only available in English, yet the company says that it plans on offering it in Portuguese and Spanish in the near future.

“Gune is designed so that everyone could contribute to the directory, so who have, or know a website mobile, just visit the website for the PC and give your tip. Once checked and approved it goes to the directory,” Garay states. Gune is currently in beta, and all those interested in seeing how it works can access it here.
