Namco Bandai is eager to show off the videogames that it plans to launch on the newly announced Nintendo 3DS, the handheld set to allow gamers to experience full three dimensional gaming without the use of any glasses or peripherals. The company is relying both on old and well-known characters and on gameplay twists in order to convince players to buy their games when the 3DS is launched.
Namco Bandai is working on a new Ridge Racer-related title, although the final name might be different, coming complete with the same adrenaline pumping fun and with fresh stereogram features.
There' also a new Gundam videogame, which will feature the trademark huge robotic fighters of the franchise while drawing the gamer deeper in the world and a revival is planned for both Pac-Man and Galaga using 3D technology, both titles presumably using it to make the experience more engaging for players.
The publisher is also eager to use three dimensional gaming to power one of its biggest franchises, Dragon Ball, with a new title in the series bound for the 3DS although it is not talking about how gameplay will work and when the game will be set in the history of the series. There's also a Super Robot title created for the fresh Nintendo handheld.
Shin Unozawa, who is a vice president at
Namco Bandai, stated, “2010 will be remembered as the year that 3D technologies finally became available on a consumer level, a breakthrough that NAMCO BANDAI Games has anticipated with its significant research and investment in the field over recent years. We are convinced of the potential of the new stereogram technology on which the hardware is based, and we intend to make full use of it to provide fresh new experiences which continue to surprise and excite our customers in the way we have been doing for many years. We are looking forward to announcing more details in the near future.”
