There seems to be no end to the "exclusive" and "collector's" editions that game publishers are coming up with to create a buzz around a game title. The upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is getting another one of these special offers and it's already hard to keep track of them all.

Most of the PlayStation 3 owners will probably just go out and buy the boxed game, get home and pop in the disc so that they can play the most elaborate game in the series, as Konami bills the upcoming title. For those who don't have a Sony manufactured console yet, the salvation lies in buying the Metal Gear Solid 4 PlayStation 3 bundle. It gets you the game and a nice looking 80 GB hard drive PlayStation 3 console on which to play it. It will cost around 500 dollars when the game launches and the bundle is already available for pre-orders.

But there's also the option of giving Konami and Sony a bit more money so that you can lay your Solid Snake loving hands on the so called "Gun Metal Gray" edition of the Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle. This special package includes a PS3 (apparently the 40 GB hard drive console, although we don't know that for certain), the game, of course, and a lot of other goodies. The included exclusive DVD offers commentaries regarding the game, as well as an official "Making of" feature and another special feature called "Hideo Kojima's Gene". Also on the DVD the lucky owners will find the soundtrack of the game and another 16 exclusive pieces of thematic music made by renowned videogame music composers such as Harry Gregson-Williams, Nobuko Toda and Ennio Morricone.

The PlayStation site will not sell this bundle, which will be exclusively handled by Konami. The company stated that is saw this edition of the game as an homage to the most dedicated fans of the series and that sales were said to begin today, as soon as the website is ready to accept orders. Konami did not say how many of these special bundles would be on sale so be quick to get one because they will surely be sold out in no time.
