The Guitar Hero franchise has been extremely popular on the major consoles out there, having massive sales with all of its three official versions and standalone expansion packs which gave gamers the opportunity to play their favorite rock tracks in front of the TV. Although rumors existed about a Nintendo DS version of the game, Activision said that it couldn't be ported to the handheld because of the unique fender which was found on the guitar controller of the game, but the solution was offered by Red Octane which developed a guitar grip and fender accessory which fitted into the Game Boy Advance slot found on the DS.

On Tour is designed to allow gamers to enjoy Guitar Hero on the DS by playing very much the same way that a real guitar is played. A special attachment is used to simulate the fret buttons, while the stylus is also used on the touch screen. It looks like the game is easy to get used to, but it could prove an interesting twist on old Guitar Hero mechanics.

The game itself has the same Career option that players learned to love and a pretty decent tracklist which is sure to keep players entertained. There will be six guitar player personas available, two of them designed specifically for the DS port. Unlockable content will feature costumes and new venues where you can be a guitar god. The wireless capabilities of the DS will allow for two player battles and co-op play for those players that grow bored with the single player section.

GLITCHES

Auto-whammy

When you have long notes, instead of whamming many times, strum, whammy, and drag pick to the top of the screen. Then, keep the pick there and the game will whammy by itself.

Chord with no hands

If an opponent uses the bomb weapon and you play a chord (two or more notes at the same time) that is long and is a bomb note, it will play itself without your fingers on the "frets". You can also push any desired fret while the note is sustained, but if you strum the guitar, the note will stop and your opponent will get some of his meter back.
